This book has a unique role in the realm of disability sport and adapted physical activity in general. The fact that this was the first book of the modern era to consolidate information about disability sport remains significant. Another goal of ours is to make this text more globally accepted.

In the past decade, there has not been another effort to include all the information that we share with you. The publication of resources on coaching (such as wheelchair basketball and quad rugby), the availability of accessible sport equipment, and the opportunities for people with Preface to the Second Edition disabilities to participate in sport have increased, as has the availability of sporting clubs, organizations, periodicals, and newsletters worldwide.
