This device is used to check fine movements, based on specified patterns. This will develop and enhance fine motor skills.

The term subtle movement means small muscles. Delicate motor skills include the use of small muscles in the fingers, hands, and arms to manipulate, control, and use tools and objects. Eye and hand coordination, in which a person uses vision to control the movements and activities of small muscles, is another important component of developing fine motor skills.

This device is also used to study the amount of vibration (tremor) of the hand in rehabilitation sciences.
